How do I secure my hunt dates?

A $1,500 nonrefundable deposit is required to secure your hunt and is only good for the current season.  Dates and prices are subject to change unless a deposit is made.  Every effort will be made to ensure you have a successful hunt, however, if you do not harvest your trophy at that time, we will gladly work to reschedule you for another date within the current season and your deposit remains good for that hunt.  We will apply the deposit to the final invoice at the end of your hunt.

What if I need to reschedule my hunt after I've made a deposit?

If you need to reschedule your hunt during the current hunting season, we will make every effort to do so.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You will check out in private at the end of your hunt.  We accept cash, debit card, a cashiers check, company check, personal check or credit card.  Please note there is a 4% processing fee on all credit and debit cards.  If you have any suggestions, complaints or compliments, please do so at check out time, as we are always seeking suggestions for improvements to your experience!

Are tips included?

Gratuity for our Staff/Guides is NOT INCLUDED.  A tip is just that, a tip, but rest assured, our Staff will ensure they have earned what is the typical industry standard for tips of between 10%-20% of your trophy fee(s).

What essentials should I pack?

Comfortable and weather appropriate hunting attire, boots, binoculars and an ice chest.

Do I need a hunting license?

Texas and non resident Hunters must provide proof of a valid Texas Hunting License.  We hunt under a Managed Land Permit and our tags will be used for your whitetail deer.

Do you offer transportation to the Ranch?

Hunters are responsible for transportation to and from the Ranch.

Can I use my own rifle during my hunt(s)?

Hunters may bring their own rifle with ammo caliber .243 or larger.  However, we prefer the use of suppressed rifles and the Ranch has rifles and ammo available for use at no additional cost and Hunters are encouraged to use these.

Do you offer Taxidermy, deer processing, and shipping?

These are available upon request at an additional cost.  PLEASE NOTE, if a Hunters deer needs to be prepared to lawfully cross state lines, additional processing fees will apply.  We do have a preferred Taxidermist, Mid Coast Taxidermy - you won't be disappointed!

Statement regarding Cougar Red Ranch's deer herd.

Cougar Red Ranch's deer herd consists of native/pasture born South Texas bucks.  We do release deer into our pastures as a means to improve the genetic mix of the herd.  Hunter acknowledges this and understands that any buck harvested may be a pasture born deer or possibly a released deer and as such the hunter acknowledges that their Guide may not be able to determine whether the buck is pasture born or released.

All guests must sign a Ranch Rules acknowledgment and a Liability and Indemnification Release upon arrival and prior to your hunt.
